– DOWNLOAD PROGRAMME

The programme for the UK-EGG Annual Conference
(Friday June 9th 2023 in Edinburgh) is now available!Â
Chaired by Professor Wendy Bickmore (Director, MRC Human Genetics Unit), the day will include sessions on clinical and molecular basis of developmental eye disorders (Nikki Hall, Joe Rainger, Shipra Bhatia), updates from the clinic (David Gilmour), the use of AI to investigate retinal images (Miguel Bernabeu), the implications of WGS for genetic counselling (Samantha Malka) and variant interpretation to improve genetic diagnosis of eye diseases (Jamie Ellingford). The programme also includes short talks and posters by early career researchers and talks by people affected by inherited eye disease.
Our keynote address will be delivered by Elfride de Baere. We are delighted that Professor de Baere can join us from Belgium, where she leads the Ophthalmic and Developmental Genetics Lab at Ghent University and Ghent University Hospital. Her research is focused on mechanisms underlying Mendelian diseases with large genetic heterogeneity.
We look forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh!Â
